Mickey Mouse Cake

Mickey Mouse is arguably one of the most iconic, animated fictional characters in the world, not to mention the fact that he is also the face of Disney, one of the world’s most recognizable brands.

In this article, we are going to be looking at how you can go about making a Mickey Mouse cake of your very own! To do this, we are going to look at a few of the different recipes. Let’s get started.

Mickey Mouse Cake 1

What You Will Need

  • A pinch of kosher salt.
  • One-quarter of a cup of heavy cream.
  • One cup of cocoa powder.
  • One and a half cups of softened butter.
  • Two teaspoons of pure vanilla extract.
  • Three and three-quarters of powdered sugar.
  • Two boxes of cake mix, including all the ingredients that are listed on the cake mix box
  • Nonstick cooking spray

This is a relatively simple Mickey Mouse chocolate cake that is sure to be a hit! First up, preheat your oven to around 350 degrees. Next, grab four cake pans, two measuring 8 inches and two measuring 9 inches. Line all the pans with parchment paper and then grease them up with the non-stick cooking spray.

Get yourself a large mixing bowl and combine the cake mixes together. Add in the ingredients as per the box instructions, but make sure to double the amount to make up for the double dose of cake mix that you are using!

Mix up the ingredients with a hand mixer until the batter takes on a smooth consistency. Once smooth, divide the batter up equally between your four cake pans. Place the pans in the oven and bake them according to the box instructions. Once done, let them cool for around ten minutes before you transfer them to a cooling rack

When they are nice and cool, take a biscuit cutter- measuring at about four inches- and stamp out four smaller cakes from the two nine-inch layers of cake. Leave the two eight-inch cake layers as they are.

Next up, it’s time to make the frosting. Do so by putting the butter into a mixing bowl and beating it until it becomes fluffy and light. Start to add in the cocoa powder, the powdered sugar, the salt, and the vanilla, and then mix it all up until it is well blended.

Add in the heavy cream gradually and continue to buy the mixture until it is thick, creamy, and able to hold peaks. Start to arrange an eight-inch layer of cake onto a serving platter.

Place the round four-inch cake onto each side of the top part of the cake. The Mickey cake should be beginning to form, and these will act as his ears!

Use your frosting mixture and spread it evenly onto each cake, then begin to top each cake with a cake layer that is the same in terms of size. If you have time to do so, put the cake in the freezer for thirty minutes before you frost so that it is easier to spread. Cover the cake with sprinkles and the rest of the frosting, and voilà! You should have a simple Mickey Mouse cake!

Mickey Mouse Cake Two

What You Will Need

  • Cake mix, including all the ingredients that are listed on the cake mix box.
  • A cup of buttercream frosting
  • Hershey’s Chocolate Drops
  • Regular Brown and Red M&M’s
  • Red Mini M&M’s

This is a simple yet different variation of an easy Mickey Mouse cake, where you won’t need that many ingredients, as you can see from the ingredients list! It can be any flavor of cake- such as vanilla or chocolate cake- depending on the cake mix that you choose.

First off, grab one or two batches of buttercream frosting, depending on how big you want the cake to be. This can be store-bought, or you can have a try at making your own. Use your cake mix and ingredients- as stated on the box- to make your cake.

Once the cake is all done and cool, cover the cake with your buttercream frosting. The next step is to create your Mickey Mouse decorations with the candy on the ingredients list!

Create a mixture of brown and red Mickey Mouse heads by using Hershey’s chocolate drops for Mickey’s head and the brown M&M’s for his ears, as well as regular red M&M’s for the Mickey head and the mini red M&M’s for his ears.

Continue to decorate your cake with the makeshift Mickeys as much or as little as you want, just make sure to decorate the sides as well as the top! You should now have your own easy Mickey Mouse cake! The ease of this cake makes it a great one to make with children or just on your own when you have some spare time.

Mickey Mouse Cupcakes

What You Will Need

  • 24 Oreos
  • One box of cupcake mix (Betty Crocker’s Black and White Cupcake Mix is an excellent choice)
  • A quarter of a cup of vegetable oil
  • Half a cup of softened butter
  • Two eggs
  • Three-quarters of a cup of water
  • Milk
  • Sprinkles
  • Half a cup of powdered sugar
  • A frosting pouch

If it is cupcakes that you are after, rather than a full cake, it is also super easy to make some Mickey Mouse cupcakes too! Create your cupcakes via the instructions on the cupcake mix box and then bake in the oven at 350 degrees for around 20 to 25 minutes.

Once the cupcakes are cooling, make your frosting by mixing the powdered sugar and milk together and blending it with the water and butter. Put the frosting into the frosting pouch and pipe them onto the cupcakes. Add on the sprinkles and then arrange the Oreos to look like Mickey’s ears!

Final Thoughts

Whether it is Mickey cupcakes or a Mickey cake that you are after, these are just a few of the ways that you can quickly and easily make your own easy Mickey Mouse cake at home!
